MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The ministry said the bomber was Fahad Suleiman Abdulmohsen Gabbaa, a national of Saudi Arabia, according to the KUNA agency.
The 23-year-old arrived in the city early Friday, only hours before he triggered an explosive during a prayer ceremony in the Shiite Al-Imam Al-Sadeq. The blast killed 27 worshipers and wounded more than 200.
The Interior Ministry also said it had arrested the man who drove Gabbaa to the mosque and the owner of the car.
The Islamic State militant group, which denounces Shiites as heretics and non-Muslims, was reported to have claimed responsibility for the deadly attack.
