Over 35 Dead Since Beginning of Coalition Airstrikes in Yemen – Ministry

According to country's Health Ministry, after five days of airstrikes on Yemeni targets by an international coalition, 37 people are dead and 150 have been injured.

BEIRUT (Sputnik) After five days of airstrikes on Yemeni targets by an international coalition, 37 people are dead and 150 have been injured, a source in the country's Health Ministry told Sputnik Monday.

"The quantity of victims reached 37 as a result of the airstrikes, over 150 citizens got injured over five days, since the beginning of the operation," the source said.

Earlier on Monday, at least three airstrikes were conducted near the Yemeni capital Sanaa.

On Wednesday, the Saudi Arabia-led coalition, including United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Jordan, launched an air-to-ground missile attack against Houthi militant groups in Yemen. The coalition has carried out a series of airstrikes, including on Sanaa's airport and a number of Houthi positions.

The Houthis currently remain in control of large parts of Yemen, including Sanaa.
