Iran Concerned About Sanctions Relief in Talks on Nuclear Program With P5+1
LAUSANNE (Sputnik) Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif held talks with his French and German counterparts, Laurent Fabius and Frank-Walter Steinmeier, on the Iranian nuclear program on Monday.

Prior to the negotiations, Fabius told journalists that Iran has a right to a peaceful nuclear program, but it must be transparent and controlled.

Steinmeier, in turn, expressed hopes that P5+1 group of international mediators and Tehran will reach an agreement on the nuclear issue. According to the minister, the last steps are the hardest, and the most important.

The latest round of talks on Iran's nuclear program is currently taking place in Lausanne. The P5+1 group comprising Russia, the United States, China, the United Kingdom, and Tehran, have set March 31 as a deadline for agreeing upon a political framework for a comprehensive nuclear deal on Iranian nuclear program. The deal itself is expected to be reached by the end of June, 2015.

The West has long accused Iran of trying to develop nuclear weapons. Tehran has repeatedly rejected this claim, stating that its nuclear program is for peaceful energy uses only.
