MOSCOW, January 7 (Sputnik) Turkey and UNHCR will deliver 12 mobile clinics, 10 ambulances and 10 vaccination units, the agency reported, citing senior Turkish officials.

"The financial aid from the international community is $264 million," AFAD's director Fuat Oktay was quoted as saying by the agency. "$179 million of this aid came from the UN."

UN Security Council Votes to Extend Cross-Border Aid Delivery to Syria

According to AFAD, over 380,000 Syrian refugees fled to Turkey since the beginning of the internal conflict in Syria in April 2011. Over 220,000 refugees have been registered in 21 tent cities located in 10 provinces of Turkey. All refugee camps have a school, mosque, shop, police station, health center, press meeting room, water tank, power distribution unit and generator.

Civil war erupted in Syria in 2011 and, since then, the country's army has been fighting numerous militias, including Islamic extremists. According to the UN estimates, the ongoing conflict in Syria has claimed some 200,000 lives and forced over 3.2 million Syrians to flee their homes, creating a grave humanitarian crisis on a vast scale.
