MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Azimut will provide engineering services for the development of modules for calculating the four dimensional planned trajectory, indication of warnings and control of air traffic, while no equipment will be supplied, Izvestia newspaper reported. The contract also provides for the training of local maintenance specialists.

The contract is expected to be fulfilled by June 2017, the cost of the contract was not disclosed.

Cuba uses an outdated air traffic control system installed by the Canadians in early 2000s.

Azimut produces radio communication, navigation, surveillance and air traffic control equipment to civil aviation enterprises. In February, it closed the deal with the Egyptian National Air Navigation Services Company on a project to upgrade Egypt's air traffic control systems.
