An earthquake has occured offshore Mexico's Baja California.

A 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck off Mecico's Baja California, the United States Geological Survey reported.

The earthquake was registered by USGS in the Gulf of California, 111 kilometres (69 miles) South-southeast of Mexican town of San Felipe, which is located on the Baja California peninsula.
