Venezuela’s Maduro Announces Spending Cuts Amid Falling Oil Prices: Reports
MEXICO CITY, December 16 (Sputnik) — Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro offered to create a special legal committee to prosecute "imperialist countries" for war crimes, El Universal reported.

"I dare to propose that the National Assembly…take the decision to establish a Committee of Lawyers for Human Rights and justice to prosecute all these imperialists who have bombed Libya, Iraq and Syria and have destroyed our brothers," the newspaper quoted Maduro as saying Monday in a televised speech.

Maduro stressed that the work of the committee should focus not only on the United States, but also on its allies.

According to Venezuela's president, this committee should be Venezuela's answer to sanctions imposed by the United States against the country's officials. Last week, the US Senate approved a bill prohibiting the issuance of visas to Venezuelan officials implicated in human rights violations during street protests earlier this year. Representatives of the US president's administration have expressed support for this bill.
