Bride-to-be Meghan Markle, an American, is going to become a British citizen, the royal residence of Kensington Palace has announced.

The Queen has granted permission for the wedding to take place at St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle in May 2018, Kensington Palace said in an official statement.

The royal family intends to pay for the wedding, including church service, flowers and music.

The announcement also says that Markle, a Protestant, will be baptized in the Church of England and will become a British citizen before the wedding, though that will take time.
