An Aer Lingus flight from Dublin was expected to land in Madrid at 10:45 but declared an emergency over France, the aviation website reported. The aircraft was expected to land in Bordeaux.

Reports emerged on social media platforms citing the airline spokesperson saying that the plane diverted its course due to medical issues on board.

This is not the first time an Aer Lingus flight has experienced troubles while in flight. A passenger plane on route from Ireland's Cork to the UK's London had to return to Cork airport after declaring an emergency.
