Former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych accused current Ukrainian authorities of planning provocations to prevent him from testifying in the Maidan case.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Earlier in the day, a Kiev court postponed the hearing into former members of the Berkut special forces, accused of killing civilians during the 2013-2014 Maidan protests in Kiev, involving Yanukovych questioning until November 28.

"I have preliminary information that the Ukrainian authorities are preparing provocations, [trying to] derail in any way possible the court hearing to prevent me from testifying as a witness," Yanukovych said as broadcast on the Rossiya 24 television channel.

The former president added that he had prepared three extra volumes of evidence and asked the court to take it into account.
