The survey findings are based on responses of 82 academics specializing in post-1945 British history and politics.

On June 23, the United Kingdom held a referendum to determine whether or not the country should leave the European Union. Eventually, 51.9 percent of voters, decided to support Brexit. Cameron who led the Remain campaign resigned following the popular vote, and was succeeded by Theresa May, who had been serving as the home secretary.
