MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the survey conducted at the University of Leeds in collaboration with Woodnewton Associates, the only UK prime ministers to rate worse were Anthony Eden and Alec Douglas-Home, The Independent newspaper reported.
The Britons suggested that the most successful prime ministers were Clement Attlee, Margaret Thatcher and Tony Blair who ended on top of the rating which includes 13 post-war prime minister, the poll said.
The survey findings are based on responses of 82 academics specializing in post-1945 British history and politics.
On June 23, the United Kingdom held a referendum to determine whether or not the country should leave the European Union. Eventually, 51.9 percent of voters, decided to support Brexit. Cameron who led the Remain campaign resigned following the popular vote, and was succeeded by Theresa May, who had been serving as the home secretary.
