UK Prime Minister Theresa May must be rather annoyed with the latest undermining comments made to French press this week by former Labour PM, and all-round schmooze-master Tony Blair.

Blair, whilst speaking in France (and in French too!) insisted that Britain's EU membership could yet be saved, despite May's insistence previously that "Brexit means Brexit."

Blair Focused More on Great Headlines Than on PM Job - UK Christian Party
But could this be a people-pleasing ray of psychic hope for all feeling the wider UK post-Brexit uncertainty symptoms?

This weekend, there is a national call-to-action being held in major cities across the country by March For Europe group, which requests for national solidarity in numbers shown in the face of a still looming, unknown post-referendum Britain.

But despite Blair possibly having his finger on the pulse of national UK sentiment right now, it isn't the first time he has chosen to make a public statement that gets met with a tirade of funny public responses, or even mentions in a growing list of "No Shit Sherlock" quips.

Here are some classic ones to perk up your first Friday afternoon of September 2016:

"This party will, ultimately, be judged on its ability to deliver on its promise"

A risky statement to make by any political party because when you eventually reach the moment of not having delivered on any of your significant promises, this quote will surely come right back to bite you where the sun doesn't shine.

"All we ask now is that the UN means what it said, and does what it meant."

This one will leave you wondering who could have written this soundbite. Whoever it was, they were probably fired not too long after it was said.

"Just after the election, an old colleague of mine said: 'Come on Tony, now we've won again can't we drop all this New Labour and do what we believe in?'. "I said: 'It's worse than you think. I really do believe in it'."

A bit like the new brand of leftie hope and potential that MP Jeremy Corbyn is attempting to bring to the UK's Labour party. 'New Labour' was a re-branding exercise that got the working public of UK a little bit excited. That didn't last too long though.

"The lesson from Iraq is not complicated. When you remove the dictatorship, out come forces of destabilisation!"

We'll just leave that one without comment for you to process it.

"If you really want to understand what I'm all about, you have to take a look at a guy called John Macmurray. It's all there."

Certainly some charisma is there for Blair, but this one is also a lot like US rapper Kanye West's delusion of grandeur when comparing himself to Steve Jobs and Tom Ford. Novelist and Journalist George Orwell is said to have been a fan of Macmurray and once quipped "He [Macmurray] says Hitler was right!"

"We underestimated challenges in Iraq."

Maybe just a tad Tony… maybe just a tad.
