Belgian Gov't to Purchase Software to Track Down Terrorists in Internet

The Belgian government approved on Friday the procurement of software that will enable the national security services to track down terrorists in the Internet, including on social networks, local media reported.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to RTBF broadcaster, the software for collecting and sharing open source data will be used by the national security service, military intelligence and police.

The media added that the government would have to pay 22 million euro ($24.6 million) for the software.

On March 22, a series of blasts hit Brussels Airport and a metro station in the center of the city, killing 32 and injuring over 300 people. Daesh jihadist group, outlawed in many countries, claimed responsibility for the attacks.
