MOSCOW (Sputnik) — France has been rocked by recent lone-wolf attacks in Nice and near the northern city of Rouen, which were claimed by the Daesh jihadist group, banned in Russia and many other countries.
"The level of threat is high, security services have significantly intensified their activities, allowing to detain and place individuals in custody," Cazeneuve told reporters after a cabinet meeting.
The interior minister said 165 people had been detained since the start of this year and 63 had been incarcerated over security concerns. Five people have been held and four have been placed into custody over security concerns since July 31, 2016.
