WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US citizens in Estonia should exercise vigilance after a threat was made to blow up an airplane at Tallinn Airport, the US embassy in the country said in a security message on Tuesday.
"The US Embassy in Tallinn informs US citizens of a reported bomb threat of unknown credibility affecting Tallinn Airport," the message noted. "Police and airport security have made the appropriate responses, however the threat is ongoing."
The embassy also warned of increased security checks at the airport amid the bomb threat.
According to the authorities, the man spoke English but used an Estonian mobile number and the calls were received from within Estonia. He threatened to bomb a flight from Estonia to Germany.
The embassy statement urged US citizens to use extra caution in public places and on mass transit, and to be prepared for unexpected disruptions.
