Mother, Three Daughters Stabbed in France for Being ‘Scantily Dressed’

A mother and her three underage daughters received grave injuries in stabbing at a southeastern French resort, according to local media.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A mother and her three underage daughters were stabbed at a southeastern French resort on Tuesday by a man who reportedly criticized their outfits, local media reported.

The incident occurred at around 10 a.m. [8:00 GMT] local time in the town of Garde-Colombe in the French Hautes-Alpes department, national television channel TF1 said.

The 37-year-old suspect, identified only as Mohamed B., was heard commenting negatively on the way the woman and girls, aged between 8 and 14, were dressed. He said they wore "scanty" clothes, in the words of the French broadcaster.

The woman and one of the girls received grave injuries and were airlifted to a hospital by helicopter, the channel reported.
