MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The UK government has failed to provide the families of armed forces personnel with decent accommodation services, frequently leaving them without basic comforts such as central heating and hot water, the Public Accounts Committee of the Parliament revealed in a report Wednesday.
"The Ministry of Defence and its contractor CarillionAmey are badly letting down service families by providing them with poor accommodation, and often leaving them for too long without basic living requirements such as heating, hot water or cooking facilities," the report reads.
In this light, the Committee is calling on the government to undertake decisive actions to enhance army personnel's living conditions and revise the way it communicates with families about their needs.
