BERLIN (Sputnik) — The United Kingdom and the European Union urgently need to agree on a mutually acceptable road map of Great Britain's exit from the bloc, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said on Tuesday.
"In the coming days, weeks and months we need to find a fast and first of all mutually acceptable solution for the exit of the United Kingdom," Steinmeier told journalists.
"I hope that we will be able to achieve clarity, at least, on the road map which we will have to outline," Steinmeier said.
On June 23, the United Kingdom held a referendum to determine whether or not the country should leave the European Union. According to the final results, 51.9 percent of voters, or 17.4 million people, decided to support Brexit, while about 16.1 million opposed it.
