UK Work and Pensions Secretary Stephen Crabb could be nominated for the post of prime minister after resignation of David Cameron, according to local media.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — UK Work and Pensions Secretary Stephen Crabb on Tuesday announced his candidacy to replace resigned Prime Minister David Cameron in a letter to the Consevative Party’s lawmakers, local media reported, citing sources.

According to the Politico news website, as well as former London Mayor Boris Johnson, Crabb’s main rival for the Consevative Party’s leadership is likely to be Home Secretary Theresa May.
