MOSCOW (Sputnik) — German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier predicted busy months ahead as the European Council prepares to discuss EU’s new "global strategy" on Tuesday.
"In times when crises and conflicts flare up around the European Union, we are building a solid base and a common strategic narrative for our European foreign and security policy…With a look to the future, many points of convergence must now be elaborated and implemented. This task will occupy us in the months ahead," Steinmeier said.
The strategy will be rolled out at a European Council meeting underway in Brussels. The two-day emergency summit was called after Britain voted last Thursday to leave the European Union, triggering aftershocks across Europe and upsetting the markets.
