LONDON (Sputnik) — Farage, who was in charge of today's action, organized a flotilla of dozens fishing boats to protest against EU impact and government quotas' imposed on UK fishing industry, Financial Times said.
Farage's movement along the river was interrupted by his opponent — Remain campaign activist and singer Geldof, the media outlet said.
Some 40-50 fishing boats, including sailing ships, gathered in front of the Westminster Abby when country's Prime Minister David Cameron was answering lawmakers' questions on fishing industry. Cameron believes that the European Union has a positive impact on the industry. The claims are opposed by Farage.
UK citizens are preparing to vote on whether the country should stay in or leave the European Union on June 23.
