MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Some 2,400 personnel will be deployed in the Euro-2016's host town of Lens in northern France to ensure safety on the day of the match between the national teams of England and Wales, France's Pas-de-Calais department prefect's office said in a press release Tuesday.
"On total, approximately 2,400 personnel, including over 1,200 police officers and gendarmes, some 350 firefighters and medical personnel, as well as over 850 private security guards will be mobilized to ensure security in Lens," the press release read.
It is also added in the press release that local authorities would limit sales of alcoholic drinks in supermarkets and convenience stores across Lens ahead and after the match scheduled for Thursday.
The 2016 UEFA European Championship started in France on June 10 and will last until July 10.
