MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the Total Croatia News, Karamarko held a press conference and announced a move to submit a motion of no confidence, which is going to push the already unstable coalition government a step closer to collapse.
"HDZ will initiative a procedure for a motion of no confidence against Prime Minister Tihomir Orešković. We have seen there is a situation which is not good, because the government is dysfunctional. The most important thing is relations between the parliament majority and the Prime Minister," Karamarko said at the press conference.
According to him, the decision to make such a move was reached on the party president's meeting.
"With this shock we want to show everybody that interests of our state are more important than personal or party interests. HDZ calls on all stakeholders to get serious. We have lost a lot of time, but there is still enough time for a reshuffled government to do its job."
Current Croatian Prime Minister Tihomir Oreskovic was suggested for the position after the main parties winning the election could not agree on a candidate. Last week, he urged Karamarko to resign as being caught up in the oil money scandal.
