10:13 GMT 03.06.2016 (Updated: 10:25 GMT 03.06.2016) The Belgian government will defend the right of Muslim women to wear a headscarf at work in EU Justice Court, local media reported Friday, citing the Belgian Foreign Ministry.
BRUSSELS (Sputnik)
– According to L'Echo, the lawyer of the Belgian Foreign Ministry will defend a Muslim woman Samira A. who sued her ex-employer G4S Secure Solutions for prohibiting headscarves at work.
Earlier the case was considered by labor tribunal in Antwerp which ruled in favor of G4S citing the right of enterprises for dress-code. The Belgian government condemned the court decision as discriminating.
