MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Europe turns to a region that projects instability, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Wednesday.
"We are witnessing such a phenomenon when Europe is turning into a region projecting instability rather than traditional prosperity," Lavrov said at a meeting with Russian non-profit organizations.
Europe is currently suffering from an unprecedented flow of migrants and refugees fleeing conflicts in the Middle East and North Africa.
The region has also been hit by several terror attacks. Most notably, in November 2015, terrorists carried out a series of suicide and gun attacks in Paris, killing 130 people. In March, Brussels Airport became a target of terror bombings, which left over 30 people dead.
