BRUSSELS (Sputnik) – Four people have been detained in Belgian Flanders on charges of participating in a terrorist group which allegedly plotted new terrorist attacks and recruited militants to fight in Syria and Libya, Belgian Federal Prosecutor's Office said Wednesday.
“Four people were taken in custody for questioning. One of these people was placed under arrest by the judge of inquiry. Another was arrested and tagged electronically. The remaining two people were released under strict conditions,” prosecutors said in the statement.
No connection between this case and March Brussels bombings has been established yet, prosecutors added.
