TALLINN (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, the defense ministers of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania met in the western Estonian town of Kuressaare to discuss the security issues, interstate defense cooperation and preparations to the NATO summit in Warsaw.

The sides exchanged opinions on the movement of NATO forces across the Baltic region and supported the idea to simplify the bureaucratic procedures for border crossing.

"Figuratively speaking, NATO allies' tanks should be able to enter Estonia without visas and not have to wait for several days at the border until the necessary documents are ready," Hanso said as quoted in the ministry's statement.

Later in the day, the three ministers are expected to leave for Georgia to meet their Georgian counterpart Tinatin Khidasheli in Tbilisi and to attend the annual Georgia Defence and Security Conference scheduled for May 24-25.
