MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry figures revealed that the number of Russian tourists coming to Turkey decreased by almost 60 percent month-on-month.
The same report showed that the number of arrivals from Germany dropped 17 percent amid a deteriorating security situation in Turkey.
Turkey has been hit by a series of terrorist attacks since last year, including in its capital Ankara and the largest city of Istanbul, where 12 Germans were killed in January alone.
A split between Moscow and Ankara over the downing of a Russian warplane by a Turkish fighter jet over Syria last November led to the cancellation of charter flights between the countries.
