10:22 GMT 28.04.2016 (Updated: 10:40 GMT 28.04.2016) Six people, who were arrested in northern Italy earlier on Thursday, were planning to carrying out terrorist attacks in the country, Interior Minister Angelino Alfano said.
ROME (Sputnik) — According to earlier media reports, six suspected extremists were arrested in the northern region of Lombardy. The detainees allegedly planned to join jihadists fighting in Syria and Iraq.
"They had very bad intentions, they were considering opportunities to carry out terrorist attacks in Italy," the minister told the Italian Canale 5 television channel.
