MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia is ready to share its experience with the European Union in countering terrorism as well as in settling refugees, Russian lower house speaker Sergei Naryshkin said Wednesday.
"From our side we are ready to share our experience [with Brussels] in countering terrorism and extremism, as well as our experience related to the relocation and settlement of refugees," Naryshkin said at a meeting with Austrian President Heinz Fischer.
Europe has been beset by a massive refugee crisis, with hundreds of thousands of undocumented migrants fleeing their home countries in the Middle East and North Africa to escape violence and poverty.
European countries have been boosting their security measures following a number of terrorist attacks, such as the multiple blasts in Brussels on March 22 and the series of attacks in Paris on November 13, in light of the threat posed by terrorist groups.
