MOSCOW (Sputnik) — There is no reason to believe Kiev's numbers on the death toll of 10,000 during the conflict in the country's eastern regions, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Thursday.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said that "10,000 Ukrainian lives had been lost" during the conflict in the eastern regions of Donetsk and Luhansk. The United Nations has reported 9,000 deaths.
"I don't think that we have any reason to believe Kiev's analysis. Obviously our special services have statistics on possible figures, that's probably all I can say," Peskov told journalists.
