MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the Yle broadcasting company, the sex attack was carried out in early November last year. The suspects — three Iraqis and a Syrian national – were detained in January.
The trial is expected to start in two weeks, the broadcaster reported.
Mass sexual harassment occurred in the streets of Helsinki on the New Year's Eve. The police said it had launched probes into 15 such incidents, allegedly conducted by migrants.
In 2015, Finland received 32,500 refugees, most of them – 20,485 — came from Iraq. According to the interior ministry’s estimates, about two thirds of them will not be granted permission to stay in the country as asylum seekers.
