Black UK Graduates Earn 23% Less Than White Colleagues - TUC

Salaries of black university graduates in the United Kingdom are on average 23 percent less than wages of their white counterparts, the British Trades Union Congress said in a press release published Monday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to its research, the gap represents a difference of some £4.30 ($6.14) per hour.

“These are very worrying findings. Black and Asian people face a massive pay gap, even if they have a degree. This is not about education, but about the systemic disadvantages ethnic minority workers face in the UK,” the TUC’s general secretary, Frances O’Grady, said as quoted in the press release.

On Sunday, UK Prime Minister David Cameron said that only 4 percent of chief executives in Britain's 100 biggest companies represent ethnic minorities.
