A group of lawyers have filed a lawsuit against the immigration policy of the German government in the Federal Constitutional Court in Karlsruhe, according to German magazine Der Spiegel.

The lawyers accuse Angela Merkel of repeatedly making decisions contrary to the German law, with opening the borders for refugees being one of the most serious ones.

"The German Chancellor has no right to overstep the boundaries of the law in the framework of her policy and exceed the powers that she has received from the voters through parliament," author of the lawsuit and Dusseldorf's attorney Clemens Antweiler said, cited by the magazine.

The lawyers demand that the court should recognize Angela Merkel's decision of September 4, 2015 as contrary to the country's constitution. The decision provided for an open-door policy for refugees and, according to Antweiler, prevented the application of the provisions of the Dublin agreement.

Merkel's refugee policy has lately been causing criticism among the German population and across the EU. According to Frontex data, more than 1.2 million migrants entered the EU in 2015, with the European Commission saying that the current immigration crisis is the biggest since the Second World War.

In Antweiler's opinion, the opening of borders is not the first of Merkel's decisions which go contrary to German and EU legislation. The lawyer also called into question the measures taken by the Chancellor while overcoming the euro crisis as well as her decision to abandon nuclear energy.

    That's the way to go!

First reaction is that getting Merkel on being against Europe would be as difficult as hopping on one leg from Vladivostok to Calais. She is the unofficial queen of Europe, nothing gets done without her, the laws are her!

I totally agree with the lawsuit and it should be done by all the voters who find that their vote is being abused by the government in power. Hopefully the law works in Germany, unlike the portuguese law that doesn´t work in Portugal as we all know. Portugal is extremely corrupt and has always protected the rich and the government and jailed the little petty theif.

Mother Gorilla, I hope what you have stated goes a little further and there is justice in Germany!
  • Get rid of her and jail her for high treason. Nothing else.

A long time coming! may the legal gods bring multitudes of unlawful claims against western terror merchants. It is the age of return of International law and the enforcement of same including the unlawful use of sanctions to destroy governments. It is the can of worms of all time. My concern is how do we protect legal teams in this age of unrestricted violence by government agencies?

"...the opening of borders is not the first of Merkel's decisions which go contrary to German and EU legislation. In the game, called baseball, that is three strikes. "YOU'RE OUT!"

A brave attempt to stop Merkel advancing the new world order, a betrayal of the German people that will lead to civil unrest and upheaval. Prison is too good for this evil slug.

Could this discredit the Minsk agreement?

Ten years of Merkel stagnation and chaos are enough. Germans even have created a new verb: `merkeln`: ich merkle, Du merkelst, er/sie/es merkelt ...

Well, first of all, Merkel doesn't come up with these decisions by herself, she's just a lackey for Washingtons wishes! And also, NOBODY says a WORD about the CAUSE of all of this migration, that it's the U.S. foreign policy to bomb the middle east into the stone ages and dislocate millions of people from their homes. Duh! Come on now! Stop the bombing and let them go back to their respective countries. But that doesn't work for the bankers nor the arms manufacturers, who actually RUN these governments. They don't make money in times of peace!
