The police on Sunday cordoned off all administrative buildings in the capital of Moldova as opposition is set to resume anti-government protests, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported.

About 5,000 Anti-Government Activists Gather Near Moldovan Parliament
CHISINAU (Sputnik) — The organizers estimate over 100,000 people from all over the country will gather in Chisinau.

The Moldovan capital has seen a wave of protests staged by opposition parties, namely the right Dignity and Truth (DA) Civil Platform and the left Party of Socialists and Our Party. The opposition is protesting against the appointment of Pavel Filip from the Democratic Party as new prime minister and calling for parliament dissolution and snap elections.

After the new government was approved on Wednesday, violence erupted, with protesters storming the parliament building. At least 31 people, including 27 police officers, were injured during the clashes.
