MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Cameron renewed his calls to expand Britain’s aerial campaign against the Islamic State jihadist group from Iraq to Syria, setting out the case in a written statement and a nearly three-hour parliament session on Thursday.
"Stop the War Coalition are organizing a protest against the bombing of Syria outside Downing Street from 12-2 p.m. [GMT] this Saturday," the advocacy group said on their Facebook page.

The anti-war activists called on other groups to organize similar actions in British towns and cities to show solidarity for their efforts, urging an end to the "brutalizing and dehumanizing spiral of violence."
Lawmakers are scheduled to vote on the airstrikes in Syria next month.
"The UK has been bombing countries for a decade and a half, at the cost of millions of lives," the coalition stressed. "Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results meets Albert Einstein's definition of madness."

Britain has been carrying out airstrikes against ISIL targets in Iraq since September 2014, but a parliamentary vote held in 2013 prevented Cameron from expanding the campaign into Syria. Cameron’s ruling Conservative Party, which maintains a comfortable majority in the House of Commons, is expected to back air operations in Syria.
The Syrian civil war, in which rebel and extremist groups are engaged in the fight against government forces, has left hundreds of thousands dead and millions displaced in nearly five years.
