MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Criminal liability will apply to all attempts to travel to another country with the aim of conducting a terrorist act, as well as financially supporting potential jihadists, including Islamic State radicals, Lännen media said.
The legislative amendments will be up for parliamentary review next spring.
They come in the wake of the November 13 Paris terrorist attacks that left over 120 people dead and over 300 injured.
France announced a three-month state of emergency following the tragic events. Security measures were enhanced in a number of other countries, including Finland and Belgium.
France's Minister of Ecology Segolene Royal said in a Tuesday statement that security gates were planned to be installed at cross-Europe trains operating in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.
