US plans are "in tatters as their other European NATO allies question the wisdom of the White House in blindly continuing to support terrorist movements it can’t control for ‘regime change’ it cannot achieve," party general secretary Andy Brooks said.
Brooks, the head of a political splinter party that broke away from the Communist Party of Great Britain in the 1970s, said that last Friday’s massacres caused France to move closer to Russia in the fight against terrorism and had led to a general change of heart in the United Kingdom and Western Europe.
A joint effort to defeat the Islamic State extremist group will put Syria on a path toward reconciliation and allow the nation to heal, Andy Brooks said.
Russia submitted an updated draft resolution to the UN Security Council on Wednesday, urging the international community to collaborate to dismantle terrorist organizations, and singling out ISIL as a key target.
"The Russian call for a UN sponsored international effort to crush ISIS, with the support of the Syrian government and the Iranians, would create the conditions for national reconciliation, the return of the refugees and the free and fair elections," Brooks said.
Armed extremists, in a series of coordinated terrorist attacks in Paris on November 13, killed 130 people and injured over 350. Following the bloodshed, Russia and Paris submitted draft resolutions to the UN Security Council, urging a joint fight against violent fundamental religious extremism.
