PARIS (Sputnik) – French President Francois Hollande imposed a state of emergency in the wake of the deadly Paris assaults that saw at least 130 killed and over 350 injured on November 13. French lawmakers voted to extend the state of emergency by three months on Thursday.
"Last night, police and gendarmes conducted 182 searches and 20 new arrests leading to 17 in police custody. Seventy-six weapons were seized and 10 drug discoveries were made," the ministry said in a statement.
Three suspected accomplices in the attacks, including their organizer Abdelhamid Abaaoud, have been confirmed killed in a seven-hour raid in the northern Paris suburb of Saint-Denis early on Wednesday. Salah Abdeslam, a suspect thought to have rented a car used in the assaults, remains at large.
