BERLIN (Sputnik) — On September 14, police reported that about 83,000 undocumented immigrants had arrived from Austria since the beginning of the month.
"I can report only numbers [of refugees] that arrived yesterday — 3,498 people. We do not have the number for September. We will receive it at the end of month," the spokeswoman told RIA Novosti.
German Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel said earlier that up to one million asylum applications were expected to be lodged in the country by the end of this year, arguing that the capacity of the country to accept migrants had already reached its limits.
