ATHENS (Sputnik) – Alexis Tsipras is due to take the oath as prime minister this afternoon, according to details of his interview with journalists published early Monday by the ruling party's press service.
On Sunday, Tsipras confirmed the forming of a coalition with the ANEL party following Syriza's victory in the Greek snap parliamentary elections.
Syriza is estimated to get 145 seats in the 300-seat parliament, with the Independent Greeks predicted to be given further 10 seats. A 151-seat majority is needed to control the legislature.
The early elections have given Tsipras a mandate to appoint the Cabinet. There have been no immediate reports on the lineup.
