MOSCOW (Sputnik) — President Vladimir Putin discussed measures to minimize the impact of current migrant crisis in Europe on Russia with members of Russia's Security Council, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
According to the EU external border protection agency, Frontex, the number of refugees registered at EU borders between January and July stands at 340,000, three times higher than during the same period last year.
"The participants of the meeting exchanged opinions regarding measures aimed at minimizing the negative impact of the current migration situation in European countries on Russia," Peskov told reporters.
