Officials from France, Germany, Britain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Italy and Spain, as well as European Commissioner officials responsible for transport, anti-terror and interior affairs, will gather in the French capital at 3 p.m. (13:00 GMT) to debate tighter security on trains and anti-terror cooperation.

On August 21, 26-year-old Moroccan national Ayoub Khazzani opened fire on Thalys train passengers, injuring three people. The gunman claimed he had intended to rob passengers because he was hungry, but French investigators suspect the attack was inspired by jihadists.
