LUHANSK (Sputnik) – Some 500 people protested on Friday in front of the Lugansk office of the International Red Cross, a participant of the protest told RIA Novosti.
"First of all, the Red Cross is not interested in the fate of captured militia, which Ukraine swaps, does not help people who suffered in the fighting and does not provide any reports to the public," the protester said.
In April 2014, Ukrainian authorities launched a military operation to suppress independence militia in the eastern region of Donbass. Over 6,800 people have been killed in the conflict, according to the latest UN data.
Despite the Minsk deal stipulating a ceasefire, signed in February, both Kiev and local Donbass militias continue to accuse each other of violating the truce.
