Body Count in Migrant Truck Tragedy in Austria Passes 70
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The outlet, Krone, cited its sources as saying that investigators had tracked the human trafficking chain as far as Romania.

The Austrian Interior Ministry updated the body count to at least 71 people earlier on Friday, after preliminary police reports put the number between 20 and 50. According to the Krone, no children's remains were found among the victims, believed to be migrants who suffocated in the truck.

The vehicle reportedly set out from the Hungarian capital Budapest on Wednesday and crossed into Austria at night where it was sighted by eyewitnesses early on Thursday.

The truck was found the same day as the leaders of Western Balkan nations met in Vienna to discuss the migrant crisis in their region, the most popular land route to Europe.
