MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Police in the southern Hungarian village of Roszke fired tear gas at refugees gathered at a reception center Wednesday, local media reported.
The Magyar Nemzet Online publication cited a correspondent saying tensions were possibly exacerbated by the presence of the media in Roszke, the major border crossing into Serbia.

Other outlets claimed Hungarian police fired the tear gas at a crowd of up to 400 migrants for a brief period to contain the crowd.
The incident comes amid deliberations in Hungarian government to deploy armed forces to secure the country's southern border.Hungary is one of several European Union members coping with an unprecedented number of people fleeing crises in the Middle East, North and Sub-Saharan Africa this year.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced previously that the construction of a fence to prevent undocumented immigrants from entering the country would be finished later this month.
