MOSCOW (Sputnik) – According to The Telegraph newspaper, the parliamentarians have held several informal discussions about challenging Corbyn when the UK Parliament reconvenes next month.
This is not the first time the British media has reported that Labour lawmakers were planning a coup against frontrunner Corbyn, as many believe his left-wing policies to be too hardline.
A recent YouGov survey revealed that 53 percent of voters support Corbyn's candidacy.
The Labour leadership vote was triggered by the resignation of Ed Miliband, following his party's loss in the May general elections.
Voting in the Labour leadership contest will conclude on September 10. The results are expected to be announced two days later.
