MOSCOW (Sputnik), Yulia Shamporova — According to Ellen Brown, the Greek ruling party Syriza’s open protest against creditor demands will result in Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras likely receiving a vote of no-confidence.
"The [international] creditors want more than money. They want the assets – the land, utilities and rents," Ellen Brown said.
Earlier in the day, Greek Energy Minister Panos Skourletis said Tsipras сould call a confidence vote in response to opposition within Syriza party ranks to the third bailout deal.
On Friday, the Greek parliament approved austerity measures to be implemented in exchange for a new bailout package from the country's international creditors. Some 42 lawmakers from Syriza abstained or voted against the deal.
Greece owes more than $270 billion to its main international creditors — the International Monetary Fund, the European Central Bank and the Eurozone nations.
