UK Prime Minister David Cameron stated on Saturday that migrants cannot "break into" the United Kingdom without permission.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Cameron's statement comes amid the migrant crisis in the french port of Calais, where thousands of undocumented migrants are attempting to board vehicles or Eurotunnel trains passing through the Channel tunnel on the way to Britain.

"What we can’t do is allow people to break into our country. A lot of people coming to Europe are coming in search of a better life. They are economic migrants and they want to enter Britain illegally, and the British people and I want to make sure our borders are secure and you can’t break into Britain without permission," Cameron said in an interview with The BBC broadcaster.

Cameron also defended his previous statement, in which he had used the word "swarm" to describe asylum seekers crossing the Mediterranean Sea to reach Europe, saying "I don’t think it does dehumanise people."

He added that the United Kingdom had always been one of the most generous European nations in terms of taking in the asylum seekers.
