MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Moscow is ready to consider different options to help Greece if Athens asks for financial aid, Speaker of Russia's Federation Council Valentina Matvienko said Thursday.

"Greece is a friendly country and Russia is ready to give it a shoulder to lean on in any form possible. Greece has not requested assistance from us, but if such a request comes, we are ready to consider various options," Matvienko said in an interview with Rossiya-24 television.
